We have these made at my husband's family jewellers in Kathmandu. His side of the family has been using these jewellers for generations. Gold is often what you find in jewellers in Asia, and Nepal is no different. So when we asked them about silver jewellery they were surprised, but also delighted to help us with our business. In Nepal silver is often used for special cutlery and crockery, and rarely for jewellery. There are a lot of silver cuffs with Buddhist designs coming from Nepal, but rarely more modern designs and a lot of these cuffs are also not pure silver but closer to pewter.
