To make this special wallet the Hemp Yarn has been drawn by tooth and spindle method, where the fibres are separated by teeth and is held on to a hand held spindle. It takes 10 days' work to make one kilogramme of yarn. Super durable and hard wearing, coming in a variety of colours this wallet folds nicely to fit in your pocket. There are plenty of inner card pockets and one plastic one to put your loved one's photo in.

Hemp is naturally anti bacterial and anti fungal, it is gentle on the earth and it grows without the need for chemicals and actually replenishes the soil. Hemp is a very strong fabric, a plant with a thousand uses and unlike many of the things that are made out of cheaper less durable fabrics, hemp doesn't wear out, it wears in!

The Walter is well made. However, the pockets are too small to hold much of anything. Drivers license sticks out a color of cm over the top of the window. Credit cards are a very tight fit, and you can’t get more than two or three in any individual pocket, or more than a half dozen total in any three pockets. Oh well, I’ll have to keep looking.
From the pictures, it looked identical to a wallet from Nepal I’d had before - in the colour ‘Heather’. This colour wasn’t offered, despite being in the picture, so I ordered ‘Black’. However, the wallet is not nearly as useful as the one it replaces. There’s no zipped coin compartment, which I would have realised if I’d looked more carefully at ALL the pictures. Also, there’s no Velcro to hold the wallet closed - once it has folding money in it and a few bank or loyalty cards, it flops open every time.

I bought this to take US dollars in my bag. The wallet wouldn’t fold into 3 parts with the wad of notes I had to carry. So good if you don’t have too many notes
Perfect! Apart from the window over the central pocket, there isn't a scrap of plastic on the wallet. Just hemp and other fabric for edging and stitching. At the end of the wallets working life, I could remove the window, bury the wallet in my compost heap, and let nature take its course. Perfect!
There were delivery disruptions due to industrial action in the UK, but the shop owner kept me fully informed and even offered a refund. Exemplary service.
My only wish would be for more organic hemp products, such as watch straps or o-ring chokers. As a green, I don't want plastic; as a vegan, I don't want leather. Sadly, the market for such products is probably too small to be viable.
